The bridge between science and spirituality
Here's the bridge I've built between science and spirituality. This is going into Chapter 12 of my book. Any comments/critiques welcomed in helping to strengthen the bridge.
[[[ What is Reality? What is God? ]]]
Reality is a multidimensional, interconnected universe that constantly evolves to fulfill its potential. God is this universal entity—the totality of all existence—and each of us is a part of God.
The purpose of God (or reality) is to achieve self-realization and self-understanding through consciousness and experience. It exists because it "chooses" itself from infinite possibilities, driven by the desire to express itself fully and maximize its potential. Beings like humans play an important role in this process by deriving meaning, consciousness, and purpose from reality.
Material wealth alone cannot bring lasting happiness because it does not address spiritual growth. Many people who seem to "have it all" feel empty inside. Instead, life’s focus should be on understanding the deeper structure of reality and growing spiritually. We are here for spiritual evolution—not material accumulation—because material possessions cannot be carried with us beyond this life.
[[[What is Life's Purpose? Where Do Ethics and Morality Stand?]]]
The purpose of life is tied to self-discovery, self-improvement, and aligning with the universe's inherent drive toward growth and fulfillment. When we strive for personal growth or help others improve, we align with the universe's purpose, making life feel meaningful and supportive.
Living true to your nature—being authentic—is a key way to grow spiritually. This helps God (or reality) understand itself better. Ethical or moral actions are those that align with the universe's goal of optimal self-realization. Actions that destroy or diminish can seem misaligned with this goal but often serve as lessons for humanity to learn and evolve.
For example, events like wars, genocides, or natural disasters teach us what not to do or how to better handle challenges in the future. Even destruction contributes to the greater alignment process by fostering awareness and growth. Misaligned events—from global conflicts to personal disputes—serve as teachers that help humanity become more aligned with the universe's purpose.
[[[Manifesting and Shaping Reality]]]
Each person’s thoughts and consciousness actively shape reality. Reality isn’t something we passively experience—it’s something we co-create through our mental states and intentions. This process of influencing reality is often called manifestation.
But can we influence the past?
Some people who have had near-death experiences describe returning to base 0 reality, a higher-dimensional state where time and space no longer exist as we know them. In this state, past, present, and future coexist simultaneously in a unified whole. This makes it possible for future events to change how we interpret past experiences—a concept known as metacausation.
Quantum mechanics supports this idea at an informational level. For example:
=Experiments show that choices made in the future (such as how particles are measured) can influence how past states are understood.
=However, some interpretations argue that entangled particles are connected instantaneously (nonlocality) rather than through backward-in-time causation (retrocausality). Nonlocality suggests that space may not truly exist at a fundamental level.
[[[How Science and Spirituality Overlap]]]
Both science and spirituality explore interconnectedness:
=Quantum mechanics shows that entangled particles remain connected no matter how far apart they are, suggesting that separation is an illusion.
=Spirituality teaches that all souls are interconnected as part of one universal consciousness.
Some physicists propose that space and time are not fundamental but emerge from a deeper reality where everything is unified. Spiritual teachings align with this idea, suggesting that when people die or return to base 0 reality, they experience unity beyond space and time—a state of infinite love where all things are connected.
This overlap bridges science and spirituality:
=Science shows how consciousness influences reality (e.g., through the observer effect).
=Spirituality sees consciousness as the foundation of existence—the soul actively shaping reality.
Together, they reveal a holistic view of existence where separation is an illusion, and everything is interconnected at a deeper level.
This simplified explanation highlights how science (quantum mechanics) and spirituality converge on ideas about unity, interconnectedness, and consciousness shaping reality. It invites us to see life as both a scientific process of discovery and a spiritual journey of growth.
